The Pyramid of Peace expresses the spirit of Kazakhstan, says the official PR release, ‘where cultures, traditions and representatives of various nationalities coexist in peace, harmony and accord.’ Bathed in the golden and pale blue glow of the glass, 200 delegates from the world’s main religions and faiths will meet every three years in a circular chamber — based on the United Nations Security Council meeting room in New York. The Palace of Peace and Reconciliation was conceived as a permanent venue for the Congress and a global centre for religious understanding, the renunciation of violence and the promotion of faith and human equality.

I know what you’re thinking right now, it’s the same thing I thought when it was first presented to me. How could I have not known about this place? The pictures you see here are not architectural renderings, these are photos of the actual buildings, completely finished and fully in operation.

The apex is round and covered with sunlight. Images of white doves are embedded in the windows, representing peace, which teaches unification of world governments and religions, a New World Order. The apex is the ultimate representation of illumination.

At the very top of the pyramid is housed the strangely occultic meeting room where worldwide political and religious leaders meet to plan global directives for the coming year. Doves have been etched onto the glass to make it appear as if they are hovering outside the windows.

In Astana, we have a ‘city of the future’ filled with Illuminati, Masonic and occult symbols, whose purpose it’s leaders say is to ‘foster global peace and harmony between the world’s religions’. It is the perfect place from which the Antichrist could begin to rule the world. Indeed, the spirit of Antichrist is already well established there.

UN: Syria talks to begin next week, as humanitarian aid reaches more besieged areas

9 March 2016 – The United Nations Special Envoy for Syria today announced that ‘substantive’ UN-mediated peace talks will begin next Monday, as humanitarian aid convoys continue to reach more people in besieged and hard-to-reach areas following a nationwide cessation of hostilities that began on 27 February.

“Quite an achievement,” Staffan de Mistura told reporters in Geneva, referring to the 238,485 people the UN and its partners have delivered aid to via 536 trucks.

Mr. de Mistura informed the press that participants have begun to arrive in the Swiss city, where he will hold “proximity talks” over the coming days as more of the parties arrive. He said he expects to start substantive discussions, known as the intra-Syrian talks on 14 March, in a round which he expects will end by the 24th.

“We believe that having a timetable and a time limit is healthy for everyone,” the Special Envoy noted. “When we start having the talks on Monday, the focus will be on substance, on the agendas, in other words on new governance, constitution, and elections, the future elections in 18 months’ time, both presidential and parliamentarian.”

Turning to the humanitarian situation, Mr. de Mistura’s Special Advisor, Jan Egeland, highlighted the progress made in recent weeks.

“Ten areas have been reached by UN and partners, several with multiple convoys,” he announced. “UNRWA [UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East]has had progress reaching people in Yarmouk, and WFP [World Food Programme] has been systematically working to overcome all of the obstacles to be able to do airdrops to Deir ez-Zor.”

However, Mr. Egeland added that six “important” besieged areas – including Darayya and Douma – remain unreached as permits and security guarantees have not yet been obtained. He also underlined that April will be “the month of new procedures,” noting that these have been “too cumbersome” with too much time spent asking for permission for access.

“We believe by then we will have a more rational, speedier, easier system that will enable us to overcome this very black stain on the conscience of Syria and on the international community, namely that people starve in besieged areas and hard-to-reach areas while humanitarian workers have supplies that can reach them and are prevented from reaching women, children, other civilians in great need,” he stressed, adding that a “tremendous plan” to access more areas through the cessation of hostilities is underway.

Meanwhile, Yacoub El Hillo, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Syria, said the global community must work together to ensure that the ceasefire is not just extended for two weeks or two months, but that it lasts.

“Looking at the horizon between now and April, we are aiming to reach 870,000 people in hard-to-reach areas, but also the specific locations in besieged areas that we have so far not been able to reach,” Mr. El Hillo said.

“The hope is that in the next few days, with the help of members of the taskforce, we will be able to complete deliveries and reach the thousands of people trapped in these places,” he added, referring to humanitarian task force set up by the International Syria Support Group to ensure access and the delivery of aid.

Marking World Wildlife Day, UN calls for global actions to save planet’s most iconic species

3 March 2016 – “Time is running out” to end wildlife poaching that threatens some of the world’s most iconic species, such as elephants, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said today as the United Nations marked World Wildlife Day.

Urging global efforts to protect this essential natural heritage for the current and future generations, much more needs to be done by key actors on all continents and across sectors, he said in a message, stressing that “the future of wildlife is in our hands,” echoing the theme of this year’s World Day.

“For too long, the world has been witness to heart-breaking images of the mass slaughter of elephants for their tusks,” he said.

According to the Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the killing of African elephants and trafficking in their ivory remain alarmingly high. Asian elephants are also subject to growing levels of poaching. An estimate shows that about 100,000 elephants were slaughtered for their ivory between 2010 and 2012.

Under the theme, The future of wildlife is in our hands, African and Asian elephants are a main focus of the 2016 Day. Countries around the world are encouraged to highlight species of wild animals and plants from their own countries, adapting the global theme to suit.

Mr. Ban said that last year, UN Member States adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including specific targets to end poaching. The UN General Assembly also unanimously adopted a resolution to limit illicit trafficking in wildlife.

To combat poaching and trafficking of protected species, it is essential to address both the demand and supply of illegal wildlife products through agreed goals and targets and international instruments, such as the CITES, he added.

In his message, John E. Scanlon, CITES Secretary-General, noted that the current wildlife crisis is not a natural phenomenon, such as a drought, a flood or a cyclone. “It is the direct result of people’s actions,” he declared.

Across every continent, he noted, governments and citizens are tackling both demand and supply, making wildlife crime much riskier and far less profitable. “We are beginning to turn the tide on wildlife trafficking,” he said, adding, however, that much still remains to be done, and a collective success will rely upon the individual actions taken by each.

UN Environmental Programme (UNEP) Executive Director Achim Steiner said that the disappearance of individual species threatens biodiversity, and by extension, the life support systems on the planet. The Day is “a call to become more informed and more involved in stopping this crime against nature, communities and future generations,” he said.

Braulio F. de Souza Dias, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity, said wildlife is also the basis of biodiversity. Biodiversity in the wild is just as important to human wellbeing as biodiversity in plants and animals used for human consumption. Wildlife is incremental to forestry, fishery and tourism livelihoods around the world. Quite simply, biodiversity keep ecosystems functional providing the ecosystem services to allow people to survive, get enough food, and make a living.

“The conservation and sustainable use of wildlife is therefore a critical component of sustainable development, and should be part of a comprehensive approach to achieving poverty eradication, food security and sustainable livelihoods,” he said.
